The FLC is an action group comprised of members coming from a broad spectrum of philanthropic actors - from feminist funds, human rights funders, funders with portfolios that focus on conservation and climate change. Its members work across the globe with vastly different regional portfolios and funding priorities.
Being the first of its kind, this meetup was of pivotal importance for the FLC as its mission was to decide on the pillars that will support the action group in its future work.
Being surrounded by stunning mountains wasn't just easy on the eyes. It was the perfect setting to bring the team closer together, helping them sharpen their vision and strengthen their commitment to the cause.
Planning previous retreats presented several challenges for them including creating a smooth transition from home offices to venues on location. They could not find the right place where everyone could meet to work together and have the opportunity to get some important downtime as well.
For the FLC, the retreat goal was to expand the vision of team members, encourage the sharing of experiences and knowledge, and reaffirm commitment to their cause. They needed a calming place where they could concentrate on what brought them together in the first place as an organization, and the fantastic nature of the Serbian mountains was the perfect choice for them.
