How to Get There

Getting your team to the Turkish Riviera from different parts of the world is easier than you might think. With its well-connected airports, accessible public transport, and options for private travel, the region is ready to welcome international groups.

For most international teams, the best way to reach the Turkish Riviera is by flying into one of the region’s major airports. From there, you can easily arrange further transport to your retreat destination. The region is well-equipped to handle international visitors, so getting there is easy no matter where your team is coming from.

The Turkish Riviera is served by several key airports, each offering easy access to different parts of the coastline:

• Antalya Airport (AYT) is the main gateway to the Turkish Riviera. It is well-connected to cities across Europe, the Middle East, and beyond. It’s located about 13 km (8 miles) from Antalya’s city center and offers numerous international and domestic flights.

• Dalaman Airport (DLM) is serving the western part of the Turkish Riviera. It is close to popular resort towns like Fethiye, Marmaris, and Göcek. The airport is approximately 6 km (4 miles) from Dalaman town and is a convenient entry point for those staying in the western part of the region.

• Bodrum-Milas Airport (BJV) is great if your retreat is closer to Bodrum or the Aegean coast. It’s about 36 km (22 miles) from Bodrum and connects to a variety of international destinations, especially during the peak tourist season.

For larger groups or those looking for convenience, hiring a private coach is a great option. Many companies in the region offer coach services tailored for corporate groups, with comfortable, air-conditioned buses that can be arranged for airport pickups, local tours, or transportation between retreat activities.

Fun and Leisure Activities

The Turkish Riviera is a paradise for both relaxation and adventure, with a wide range of activities that cater to all interests. If your retreat is by the beach, your team can enjoy sun-soaked days filled with water sports like sailing, snorkeling, or paddleboarding in the crystal-clear Mediterranean sea. Beach volleyball and team-building games on the sand are also popular, providing a fun way to unwind and bond.

Beyond the beach, the region is rich in cultural experiences. Your team can explore ancient ruins like those at Phaselis or Side, take a guided tour of historic sites, or visit local markets to soak up the vibrant atmosphere. The region also has an excellent culinary scene, with plenty of restaurants where you can savor traditional Turkish cuisine. In the evenings, your team and you can enjoy the lively nightlife in towns like Bodrum or Antalya, with options ranging from laid-back beach bars to energetic clubs.

Culture

The culture of the Turkish Riviera is a vibrant blend of Mediterranean warmth, deep-rooted traditions, and a relaxed coastal lifestyle. One of the most distinctive aspects of the region is its hospitality. Locals are known for their friendliness and are always eager to share their rich history and traditions with visitors. This welcoming spirit makes it easy for your team to feel at home, whether they’re exploring bustling markets or enjoying a meal at a local restaurant.

Another cultural highlight is the Turkish tea and coffee tradition. You’ll find that tea (çay) is offered everywhere, often in small tulip-shaped glasses, as a gesture of hospitality. Coffee, particularly Turkish brew, is a cherished ritual – strong, thick, and served with a glass of water. It’s not just a drink but a moment to pause and connect, making it a perfect break during meetings or after a long day of activities.

In the evenings, don’t be surprised to see the streets come alive with locals gathering in cafés, sharing food, and enjoying music. Traditional music often plays in the background. The relaxed pace of life in the Turkish Riviera encourages you to slow down and savor each moment, whether you’re wandering through ancient ruins, dining at a seaside restaurant, or simply enjoying the sunset over the Mediterranean.

Visa Requirements for Turkey

When planning a company retreat to the Turkish Riviera, it’s important to understand visa requirements for your team. Most travelers entering Turkey will need a tourist visa, but the process is straightforward.

Citizens of many countries can apply for an e-Visa online, which is quick and easy to obtain before your trip. The e-Visa allows stays of up to 90 days within 180 days for tourism or business purposes. Some nationalities are even eligible for visa-free travel to Turkey, meaning no visa is required for short stays.

However, visa regulations can vary depending on your nationality, so it’s always a good idea to check the latest requirements before booking your trip. Ensuring your team has the correct documentation will help your retreat go smoothly.

Always check the official website for current information about visas.
